Tuyishime Martin

provides support for this child

Tuyishime Martin is one of the sponsored students of Sonrise School. When we asked him to describe himself, he said,

”I’m brown, tall and slim. I’m 14 years old and love playing basketball.“

At the age of 14, Tuyishime Martin has seen more than most children see in a lifetime. The poverty and sickness he has witnessed are constant burdens to his young heart. He has no mother or father, and intimately knows the struggles that come from not having either. Many men, women and children in Rwanda die from illnesses that can be cured or managed, such as HIV and AIDS.

”I want to be a famous doctor so that I will treat sick people,” Tuyishime says. “This is my dream. I have to study hard because it will lead me to many things”’

When asked if he has a favorite subject, he replies with an emphatic “Yes!!! I love science!“

When with his friends Paul, James, Claude and Peace, they listen to music. “Sean Kingston from America” is one of their favorite artists.

“One day,” he says, “I would like to travel to America. I want to meet other children my age and know about their story and what they like to do. I would like to share with them that my country loves God so much and that it is beautiful with mountains and forests.”

“My final wish,” he says, ”is to one day see my sponsors.”

Thanks to the sponsors who support The Mustard Seed Project based in the USA, children like Tuyishime Martin will have the chance to study, find healing and accomplish their goals. They can look forward to a bright future.
